Progress report: Week 43

I’m super excited to announce that I’ve finally hit a new milestone in my weight loss journey;

I weigh 99 kg!

I probably could have gotten down to two digits a few months ago, but I plateaued for a while and had to figure out a way to change up my weight loss strategy. I’m glad to say I’m losing weight again now, at a steady pace. Up to 1 kg per week seems to just melt off me, and it feels great to look at the scale from week to week.… Read more

Progress report: Week 12

I’m tired. We’re trying to teach Viktor a better nighttime routine, but whenever we put him to bed he just cries and screams forever. Ironically, he’s probably just crying because he’s tired. In the end I have to rock him to sleep almost every night. We purchased a baby monitor today, so we’re gonna try to have him sleep in his own bed from now on. He’s been sleeping in a baby nest in our bed these first few months.

It’s probably going to be difficult for him to get used to sleeping in his own bed, since we already made the terrible mistake of rocking him to sleep every night the past few weeks.… Read more

Progress report: Week 11

This week I freshened up the baby carriage mobile I made. There were a couple of design flaws, and I wasn’t happy with the colors I had initially used for the spheres. There was no clear theme going on, just a random splash of colors that didn’t go well together.

This time I made a plan for it. I shortened the thread that the figures were hanging from, because they were hanging much too low. I also replaced the thread the mobile itself was hung from.… Read more

Progress report: Week 10

The last few months have been good to me. Viktor was born, I won a Playstation 4 in a contest, and we managed to score tickets to a Radiohead concert in Oslo next June even though they were sold out within 2 hours. My birthday is coming up soon, too. I’ll be 24 years old on November 25th, and Viktor will be 3 months old the day after that. I’m still waiting to hear that sweet baby laughter for the first time.… Read more

Progress report: Week 9

As of today, I’m down 20kg since Viktor was born. I’m really surprised I’ve lost as much weight as I have, considering the fact that I have been eating an extraordinary amount of crap lately. I also “forgot” to exercise ever since that one time I did some half-assed yoga. Man, yoga is work. My ass is lazy.

I’m glad I have Lemon to pick up some of the slack so I can allow myself to be lazy some days.… Read more

Progress report: Week 7

Oops, I accidentally skipped a week of reporting progress.

Week 6 I was on a road trip across the country with Lemon and Viktor. We drove 12 hours to visit my side of the family because they still hadn’t met the little guy. They passed him around like a game of hot potato until the entire room had held him. I also have a cousin who gave birth 4 days after me, and we met up with her as well to see if our babies would get along.… Read more

Progress report: Week 5

This week has been relatively uneventful. On Thursday I woke up utterly convinced that it was Tuesday. I guess that’s what they call momnesia.

Speaking of which, a few weeks ago I accidentally stole $5 worth of minor items at a shopping center. It really was an accident, I promise. I was going to pay for the items I had picked out, but placed them into a shopping cart under some bags, and when I had walked around the store for a little while I simply forgot I had them and left the store.… Read more

Progress report: Week 4

This week I’ve been working on a video to show you guys how I bathe my baby. It’s my first time trying to make a video, but luckily I’ve had Lemon helping me out. We’re shooting with my Canon 700D and he’s handling all the audio stuff and music since he’s a musician.

At first, we shot the whole thing using only the lights that were already in the room we were shooting in. Usually some old yellow ceiling spots. The results were not great.… Read more

Progress report: Week 3

Making good progress now, down nearly 2kg since last week. And, best of all, it’s easy. I’m just eating what I want, in smaller portions. Never feeling deprived. Life is good and weight loss comes easy right now. Let’s hope it stays that way.

Today, my son got to meet his great great grandmother for the first time. Not everyone gets to meet their great great grandmothers at all, so it felt quite special. Great great grandma is an unusually fit woman of 94 years, with all her mental faculties still intact.… Read more
